Anthropomorphic Stone Tombs la Cortesiña III

In Cedillo, as in othernearby villages, there are numerous anthropomorphic stone tombs. Their construction most likely dates from the Late Roman or Early Christian period. There are various different types: some dug out of slate outcrops and some made of slabs driven into the ground. They are located individually or in groups and are always small and rectangular.

The Cortesiña tombs consist of one tomb excavated in slate, a small tomb of buried slabsand a group of three tombs carved into the same slate outcrop.
