Fallen Earth Dolmen
The village has some thirty slate megaliths which were discovered around 1995 by the Portuguese researcher, Jorge de Oliveira. They were built between 5000 and 4000 BC by the first communities of shepherds, a nomadic people who built smaller but numerous megaliths of both the simple and the corridor type.
The Tierra Caída dolmen is a simple dolmen consisting of a small covered chamber. The inclined slate sidestones work in conjunction with other stone slabs to cover the burial chamber.
